Join us on Friday, July 10th, 2026, for everyone's favorite local comedy group.  Doors Open at 6:15 PM, Show starts at 7:00 PM Beer and Concessions are available. Blue Plate Special, Northeast Tennessee’s most prolific and attractive improv troupe is back for its monthly residency at the Capitol, after a successful appearance at the Gatlinburg Improv Festival!   From their first performance at the Blue Moon Dinner Theater in Johnson City on Valentine’s day 2014, Blue Plate Special has performed all over our region on stages in Kingsport, Asheville, Greeneville, Johnson City, and Knoxville.  After over 100 shows, the group continues to make audiences laugh with a series of short-form improvised scenes, using only audience suggestions to create entirely new worlds and characters.
