About

Located in the 1916 Greeneville High School building at 101 W. McKee St., the museum features two floors of exhibits covering Greene County history from pre-colonial times to the present across 13 galleries and numerous walk-through exhibits. Displays include pioneer life artifacts, a recreation of Greeneville's Main Street circa 1905, and materials related to President Andrew Johnson, Mordecai Lincoln, and Confederate general John Hunt Morgan. A pioneer children's exploration room and the adjacent Seth Babb log home (dating to 1787) are also open to visitors during regular hours. Admission is free, with donations accepted.
