Greeneville Energy Authority (GEA) is a not-for-profit public utility located at 110 N. College St. in Greeneville, TN. It provides electric power to approximately 41,000 meters throughout Greene County and portions of surrounding counties, purchasing wholesale power from the Tennessee Valley Authority. Formerly known as Greeneville Light and Power System since 1945, the organization rebranded in 2019 to reflect its expansion into broadband services. Through its GEA Connect program, it also offers fiber internet and telephone service to residential and business customers in Greeneville and Greene County.
