The Child Advocacy Center of the 3rd Judicial District serves Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, and Hawkins counties with a safe, child-focused setting where children who may have experienced abuse or neglect can share their story. Children talk with specially trained interviewers in a way that avoids retraumatization, and a collaborative team of law enforcement, child protective services, medical staff, mental health providers, and family advocates works together to determine the best path forward. The center has served the region for 25 years, aiming to make the investigative process as supportive and child-sensitive as possible while ensuring families are not alone during these challenging times.
