Sundown on Depot

Greeneville, Tennessee

About

Sundown on Depot is a charity car show in downtown Greeneville, started in 2016 by a group of local friends who shared a love of cars and wanted to support a good cause. The first show lined West Depot Street on a rainy May day, alongside a screening of American Graffiti at the Capitol Theatre. It has since grown into one of the region's biggest open car shows: more than 600 vehicles filled Main Street from Tusculum Boulevard to McKee Street in 2022. The show is open to street rods, muscle cars, trucks, low-riders, and custom bikes, with dash plaques for the first 200 registrants, door prizes, cash prizes, Cool Picks, a Kids' Pick, specialty awards, and a $100 Long Distance Award. Proceeds go to local charities, led by Holston Home for Children, which has received about $13,000 a year in recent years; Isaiah 117 House and AIDNET of Greene County have also benefited. The spring show runs alongside the Iris Festival each May. In 2026 it adds a fall show on October 24, held with the Greene County Partnership's new Appalachian Autumn Festival. Registration is $10 in advance or $20 on the day of the show.
